The “100 Girls in Tech” program is a six-month initiative aimed at empowering young women in Abeokuta with essential tech skills, soft skills, and hands-on experience through internships and mentorship.
Who can apply to the program?
Young women aged 15-29 with a passion for technology and a desire to learn can apply. No prior tech experience is required, but a willingness to commit to the program is essential.
What skills will I learn in the program?
Participants will learn core tech skills, including software development (frontend and backend), data analytics (Advance Excel, PowerBI, Fabrics & Python), Product (Product marketing & management). Soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and leadership will also be covered.
Is there a fee to participate in the program?
No, the “100 Girls in Tech” program is completely free for all selected participants, thanks to the sponsorship of the US Consulate and other partners.
What are the benefits of participating in the program?
Participants will gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and networking opportunities. Top performers will receive awards such as laptops, while others may receive MiFi devices and certificates of completion.
Are there internship opportunities?
Yes, participants will have the chance to secure internships with tech companies to apply their skills in real-world settings and gain valuable work experience.
Can I participate remotely?
The primary location for the program is Abeokuta, with NO sessions to be held online. Details will be communicated to participants during onboarding.
