World Tuberculosis (TB) Day 2025: Yes! We Can End TB

Every year on March 24, the world unites to raise awareness about tuberculosis (TB) and accelerate efforts to eliminate this deadly disease. World TB Day 2025 carries the theme “Yes! We Can End TB.” This theme reflects the urgent need for global collaboration, increased investments, and innovative strategies to eliminate TB and save lives.

At Bilikisu Iyabode Atobatele Memorial Health Center, a healthcare initiative of the Abiodun and Yinka Atobatele Foundation (AYAF), we are committed to this mission. As part of our dedication to improving public health, we have actively engaged in TB screening, awareness, and treatment programs to combat this preventable and curable disease.

Our Impact in 2024

Last year, our TB awareness and screening outreach reached over 100 individuals, and 33% of those screened were affected. With our partnership with the state government, we provided access to free screening, diagnosis, and treatment for those in need. Early detection is crucial, and through this initiative, we were able to connect affected individuals with the right care, preventing further spread and complications.

In addition to physical screenings, our online awareness campaign helped spread vital information about TB prevention, symptoms, and treatment. By leveraging digital platforms, we reached a broader audience, ensuring more people had access to life-saving knowledge.

Our Commitment in 2025

Building on last year’s impact, we are intensifying our efforts with a comprehensive TB awareness and prevention campaign. This year, our focus includes: ✅ Hosting virtual sensitization sessions with healthcare professionals to educate the public on TB symptoms, prevention, and treatment. ✅ Sharing informative content across social media, WhatsApp groups, and community forums to debunk myths and encourage early screening. ✅ Expanding our community-based screenings, ensuring that more people, especially in underserved areas, have access to free TB testing and treatment. ✅ Strengthening our partnerships with health agencies to provide sustained support for TB control and treatment.

Why This Matters

Tuberculosis remains a major global health threat, especially in developing countries like Nigeria, where thousands are affected each year. The disease is preventable, treatable, and curable, yet millions still suffer due to lack of awareness, stigma, and delayed diagnosis. By taking action today, we can contribute to a future free of TB.

Join the Movement

We encourage everyone to participate in this awareness campaign by sharing our messages, attending our virtual sessions, and encouraging TB screening within your communities. Together, we can spread knowledge, break stigma, and ensure access to life-saving treatment.

Let’s say YES! We Can End TB.
