June Joy: Three Safe Deliveries at AYAF Health Center

June has been a month of celebration at the Bilikisu Iyabode Atobatele Memorial Health Center, Abeokuta — a place where new life meets free, compassionate care.

This month, three beautiful babies were safely delivered into the world, thanks to the dedicated team at the Abiodun and Yinka Atobatele Foundation (AYAF). With these births, our 2025 delivery count has reached six — six mothers served, six safe outcomes, and countless lives touched.

What makes these stories extraordinary is not just the outcome — but the journey.

From Antenatal to Delivery: The AYAF Approach

Each of the mothers who delivered this month started their journey with us during antenatal care sessions. At AYAF, antenatal care is comprehensive, personal, and free. Our sessions are designed to empower mothers with knowledge and provide consistent medical monitoring throughout their pregnancy.

Services include:

  • Health talks on nutrition, birth planning, and postpartum care
  • Blood pressure and vital sign checks
  • Supplement and vitamin distribution
  • Emotional support and medical guidance

These women were not just patients — they became part of a supportive community of mothers who showed up for each other, asked questions, shared laughs, and prepared for the life-changing moment of childbirth.

Meet Our June Mothers

1. Adesina Sherifat

Earlier in June, Sherifat safely delivered her baby and expressed her appreciation in a heartfelt video shared with our team.

“Thank you AYAF for taking care of me and my baby. Everything was free, and I felt safe.”

Her joy was infectious — and a reminder that with dignity and support, every woman can face childbirth with confidence.

2. Jagi Rofiat

Rofiat’s journey from antenatal registration to delivery is a testimony to trust. After several visits filled with learning, reassurance, and monitoring, she gave birth this past weekend — surrounded by the very professionals who had supported her every step of the way.

“I never worried about anything. AYAF was with me from beginning to end.”Rofiat

3. A Mother Who Chose to Remain Anonymous

Not every story is told publicly, but every story matters. One of our June mothers chose to keep her experience private — but her gratitude was no less powerful. She, too, walked out with a healthy baby in her arms and a heart full of relief.

Why These Births Matter

In many underserved communities, quality maternal care is inaccessible, unaffordable, or unsafe. AYAF is changing that narrative.

We offer:

  • Free antenatal and delivery services
  • Clean and fully equipped facilities
  • Trained health professionals and volunteers
  • Ongoing postpartum support

All without cost, discrimination, or compromise in care.

Each safe delivery at AYAF is not just a success for one family — it’s a victory for public health.

Thank You to Our Team & Supporters

We owe these joyful outcomes to:

  • Our incredible nurses, midwives, and outreach staff
  • Our volunteers who show up week after week
  • Our partners and donors whose support powers this mission

Whether you gave time, resources, or encouragement — you were part of every heartbeat that led to these June deliveries.

Moving Forward

As we head into the second half of 2025, we remain committed to our goal:
To ensure no woman has to choose between her safety and her finances when bringing life into the world.

Every delivery at AYAF is a promise kept. A dream protected. A life saved.

Let’s keep going — together.
