Dear AYAF Community,
On this International Day of the Girl Child, we are reminded of the critical role that young women play in shaping the future. At the Abiodun and Yinka Atobatele Foundation (AYAF), we believe that when you empower a girl, you empower the world.
In line with this year’s theme, we are thrilled to introduce the 100 Girls EmpowerHer Initiative, an exciting new program aimed at fostering the growth and development of girls through technology and digital literacy.
What is the 100 Girls EmpowerHer Initiative?
The 100 Girls EmpowerHer Initiative is a free 6-month program designed to provide young girls with the skills they need to succeed in today’s rapidly evolving digital world. Over the course of the program, participants will be immersed in comprehensive tech training, equipping them with valuable skills in areas such as:
- Software Development
- Product Management
- Data Analytics
- Product Marketing Management
Beyond tech skills, we will also offer soft skills sessions, preparing them for the professional world and empowering them to take leadership roles in their communities and beyond.
What’s at Stake?
We believe in rewarding excellence. Top-performing participants will receive laptops, enabling them to continue their tech journey and pursue opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach. Additionally, others will receive MiFi devices, ensuring they stay connected to the online resources and opportunities they’ve gained through the program.

By training young girls in tech, AYAF is actively contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
- SDG 4: Quality Education – Providing access to education and lifelong learning opportunities.
- SDG 5: Gender Equality – Empowering girls to take on leadership roles and ensuring equal access to opportunities.
- SDG 9: Innovation and Infrastructure – Promoting innovation by equipping young minds with tech skills for the future.

Through this initiative, we are giving young girls the tools and resources they need to envision a future where they are creators, innovators, and leaders in tech.
